Ibbotson High-Conviction Trusts Leaders in Implemented Consulting
Two high-conviction Ibbotson Investment Trusts were leaders in the implemented consulting market in 2009, according to the December 2009 Chant West Implemented Consulting Survey.
The Ibbotson Australian Shares High Alpha Trust was the best-performing option in the Australian Shares category, recording a one-year return to 31 December 2009 of 46.7 percent. The High Alpha Trust is a multi-manager portfolio of boutique fund managers selected for their potential alpha-generating ability. The current manager line-up comprises a long/short mandate with Barclays Global Investors, Northcape, Orbis, and Platypus.
Also performing strongly was the Ibbotson International Shares High Opportunities Trust. This was the top-performing option in the International Equities (Unhedged) category over the six months to 31 December 2009, with a 13.3 percent return, and the third-best performer among 19 funds over the year (8.8 percent). This high-conviction multi-manager portfolio provides access to specialist international share investment managers not ordinarily available to Australian investors, among them Altrinsic, Axiom, Sands Capital, and Trilogy.
